Teeth Whitening
There are several different ways to whiten your teeth and the results vary greatly. Every patient is unique and the ability to significantly lighten the shade of your teeth varies by each patient. Most people don’t realize that filling and crown material won’t respond to whitening or bleaching treatment. So, it is very important to make sure you’re happy with the shade of your teeth before receiving any dental treatment – especially if it’s in your smile zone.

Since there are so many options, making a decision can be very confusing. Generally, the options fall into four different categories. In-office whitening, home-whitening with custom trays, home-whitening with LED trays, and take-home whitening strips. There are pros and cons to all of the options.
In-office whitening can be quick and effective. In order to significantly change the brightness of your teeth, this type of whitening process can leave a patient with tooth sensitivity that can be quite painful. Dr. Jarvis prefers at-home whitening systems because it allows his patients more control over how often and how long they whiten. We can design custom whitening trays that can be reused for years and we sell more affordable whitening strips that our team has found to be very comfortable and effective.
